Glass Break Sensors

Glass break sensors activate when they detect the frequency of breaking glass. Shock sensors are a bit different detecting shock to the window.

  1. Glass Break Sensors can be mounted on the ceiling or on the wall normally within 25 feet of the windows.

  2. Certain types of Glass Break sensors can be set off by large trucks driving by so this needs to be considered before installation.

  3. Glass Break Sensors will detect someone before they enter the building giving you a few seconds. Some owners have decided to just mount motion detectors on the inside rather than Glass Breaks.

  4. Sometimes it is prudent to install Glass Break Sensors that will alert you if a rock is thrown through the window or if a tree falls through the window. If a tree falls through a window water or snow could enter causing additional damage to computers etc… This is why we suggest that Glass Breaks be considered during certain circumstances.
