I watch a Spanish soap opera with my wife each day and yes it does help my Spanish abilities and accent although for some reason I feel like I am wasting my time even though it is enjoyable. Enjoyable may not be the right word for it. This novella has you waiting on the edge of your seat because you know that wrongs must be righted and you hope that people will get what they deserve. Unfortunately revenge or the promise of revenge may seem justified and yet revenge never brings you happiness although some people feel it brings satisfaction. The protagonist besides being beautiful is very smart. With anticipation we wait until all things will be manifest and I fear that I will have to wait until the end for everything to come together. These shows make you want to get out of your seat and take action. My wife has to remind me it is just soap and nothing more. There is one character that is a very good person yet he also appears to be stealing which makes it difficult to justify and also people may become confused with a role model of this type thinking that one can be good and bad at the same time.

So I would guess that since I am learning more Spanish and culture that these soaps are not an entire waste of time although I would venture to say that most all of our activities can either be good, better or best and we all have to decide on which ones are participate in. Spending time with my wife is also important so I accomplish a few things all at once, I get to relax, I can improve my Spanish and spend time with my wife. On the other hand I guess I am sitting around not being very active while I watch TV and I could be reading the bible which may be a better activity. lol
