Working with your heart in art and music

“He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.” ― St. Francis of Assisi

This applies in so many ways in different aspects of life.

MUSIC: When I started learning to play the clarinet I found this to be true. I learned to play the notes and then the rhythm and the notes and then when I was able to put my heart into it I truly felt like and artist.

KARATE: When I first started classes and learned the moves it was cool or at least I felt special and later when I perfected the stances, kicks, grabs, strikes, blocks and other items I moved to the middle area and later when it became part of me I felt like an artist. Now I have no desire to hurt anyone at all and that is how it should be.

RELIGION: Often people will profess to be Christian and later they will will actually show the good works of a Christian and later still when they truly accept Christ in their heart and do the works of Christ because of the love in their heart and  they change and become a new person. Others do it to be seen of men.  Yes we are  saved by grace but yes those that truly love God and Christ will do his will and do it for the right reasons. As he stated in the Bible "If ye love me keep my commandments".
