Camera Systems

Consider several factors when purchasing any camera or security system, consider the brand, the quality, look at the reviews of the systems and look carefully at the reviews of the companies you are considering.

Pick varifocal lenses a good general lens would be 2.8-12mm

When you purchase a more expensive camera you will get many features that you don’t get with the least expensive cameras. Another example is FLIR, they sold lots of equipment and then they stopped making NVRs and security cameras so now you have to change them out to new equipment.

Call your security company and ask them to sit down to discuss lighting, where the cameras are needed and what you actually need them to do. Don’t just ask for pricing and pick the low bidder. Pick a company and a camera brand that will actually meet your needs. This way you will not have buyers remorse.

If all the security companies are trying to come up with the lowest bid then you can be assured that those options do not include the best cameras nor the best recorder options.
