Insurance Company requirements

Many insurance companies now have specific requirements for certain equipment to be added to your security systems and when you comply with these items you get discounted insurance rates. Contact your insurance company to verify what their requirements are and we can help you get the system installed.

In certain areas such as Park City your insurance company may require these items to continue your insurance coverage. Some of the items are only recommendations

  1. Have a Fire Alarm system with installed system smoke detectors that is monitored by a UL Listed Central Station monitoring company.

  2. Have a burglar alarm system that also sends signals to a UL Listed Central Station.

  3. It is recommended that you install low temperature sensors in each heating zone of your home. If your home drops below 45 degrees F the system will alert you before the pipes freeze at 32 degrees.

  4. It is recommended that your fire sprinkler system flow switch be monitored so when water begins to flow because of a fire the system will notify the fire department.

  5. It is recommended that you replace your rubber washing machine hoses with steel braided hoses. Rubber hoses can crack and leak causing water damage.

  6. Consider installing water sensors in areas of the home such as laundry rooms, the room where your water heater is and other areas with sinks that could leak.

  7. Consider adding a WATER COP which is a valve that can shut your main water valve off if there are leaks. A plumber would need to be hired to install this type of a system. The Water Cop is one brand name of water shut off valves and there are different brands this is just an example of one of them.

  8. Consider replacing old plastic connections on pipes, water heaters, toilets with new connectors that will have a better chance of not leaking.

  9. It is recommended that you hire a licensed professional to install a float switch on your air conditioning units that will shut the unit down if there is a blockage and this can help prevent water damage.
