Luck or God's will or just how it is
Yesterday my 13 year old son collided with a girl that he was playing ball with. She had fallen in the shower a week before and gotten 15 stitches on her head and after this hit she got another 9. My son was more worried about her than himself although his vision was coming in and out and he lost is balance as well. (Equilibrium) We took him into the ER and they put 11 stitches on his eye (A plastic surgeon) But before doing that they gave him a CT scan and when the results came in after the stitches they told us he had a broken cheekbone and what appeared to be a very small bleed in his brain so we have to keep an eye on him and they gave us a prescription for a narcotic that he has to wait 48 hours to use. He had a very large goose egg on his cheekbone. One of the men I work with fell off a ladder and hurt himself while working yesterday and I had to go get his truck from Orem. They took him to the Hospital in an ambulance. After the scan they found he had fractured his scapula and on L5 there was a fracture as well so he will need at least a couple of weeks of rest.
Obviously we pray for my son and his mother felt he was going to have an accident but in her mind what she saw was an accident with a white truck and while he was in Guatemala. We are hoping that her feelings were just this accident and not another as well.
Does God cause accidents, does he prevent them? Why does he step in for certain people and not for others? We learn a great deal from problems in our life so normally he does not up and take our problems away from us nor do we do this for our children. (Unless we are messed up ourselves)
We have insurance but it only covers 80% of the costs but the Church also has insurance since it was a church ball activity so we will see what happens with this.
