12 Step Program

This is me, do I look like a wise old man? This is from a recent production I was in. The beard is real if your wondering.

12 Steps of fixing your life and helping others do the same.

Step One – Admit I am powerless over alcohol, drugs, inappropriate sex, stealing, telling lies and other addictions—admit my life has become unmanageable and these things are causing negative consequences that I want to change. Once we recognize these weaknesses we can work on them.

Step Two – Come to believe that a Power greater than myself can restore my sanity.

Step Three - Make a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God

Step Four - Make a searching and fearless moral inventory of myself. Be honest with myself and I won’t try deceiving myself or God saying that these problems are the fault of others.

Step Five – I will admit to God, to myself, and to another human being the exact nature of my wrongs. See step eight. Some religions have Priests or Bishops they confess to in order to help with this process. I want to change and become a better person.

Step Six – I am entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

Step Seven – I will humbly ask Him to remove my shortcomings and turn my weaknesses into strengths. Humble means someone that is willing to learn and make changes.

Step Eight – I will make a list of people I have offended and pay them back if possible. Make restitution for anything I have stolen or apologize to those I have offended in the past. I will become willing to make amends to them all. I will have patience with myself and others and move in a positive direction.

Step Nine – I will Make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to doing so would injure them or others.

Step Ten – I will Continue to take personal inventory and when I am wrong and I will promptly admit it. I will stop blaming others for things that I do or am involved with.

Step Eleven – I will seek through prayer and meditation to improve my conscious contact with God as I understand Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for me and the power to carry that out.

Step Twelve - Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, I will now promise to carry this message to alcoholics, drug addicts, sex addicts, those that lie and other people that have addictions that are ruining their lives, and to practice these principles in all of my affairs. I will avoid criticizing others openly but take them aside privately and share my experiences in a humble way. I will not make fun of others that are less fortunate or anyone that is not as good as I am in any way. I will defend those that cannot defend themselves in a peaceful way. I realize that I have to want to change and follow these steps and only then can change take place.
